Shimano Stradic Ci4 4000 Spinning Reel Review
The CI4 4000 is one of the newer, advanced versions among the main Ci4 series. It’s become one of the more successful reels thanks to its appealing look, smooth feel and long-lasting, durable build. It has incorporated some impressive updates including Hagane gear, G Free Body, CI4+, Core Protect, X-SHIP, and the entirely new Magnumlite Rotor. The Magnumlite Rotor allows a very light feel when reeling. All these exciting new features on the new Shimano Stradic CI4 are designed to help you succeed.
Considering these details, you may already be able to tell that this will be one of the prime choices for jigging and inshore fishing. The reel’s lightweight construction makes the Stradic CI4 great for finesse uses. This fact, combined with some of the other new features make it one of the best reels for bass fishing.
Weight: 4/ 5
This reel is very lightweight, even though it manages to maintain a smooth feel.
If you use a lot of artificial lures with repetitive casting, you’re going to love this reel. You’ll deifnitely feel the difference after repeated fishing trips and hundreds of casts. It’s so lightweight that it floats! This is awesome in case a rod accidentally flies overboard.
We would compare the weight of this reel to the more expensive models like the Shimano Sustain or Shimano Stella.
The Ci4 construction frame material is a characteristic only found in Shimano models. The carbon interfused structure has a unique benefit in that it maintains the durability, and at the same time it weighs up to 25% less than other similar sized reels.
Furthermore, the Ci4 models contain ZERO metal. This is especially important for saltwater fishermen, but still important for anyone looking to avoid rust.
The X-Ship technology they brag about is also important. It supports the pinion gear on both ends with special bearings. This ensures that all reel-gears stay in alignment even with larger fish on the hook. This X-Ship technology has drastically improved the rotating performance which, in turn, makes rotating smoother. If that isn’t enough, this technology also decreases the wear and tear on drag over time, resulting in an extended lifetime of the entire gear system.
Value for Money: 5/5
While the Shimano Stradic Ci4 4000 isn’t the cheapest model, the quality of this rod is definitely worth the price. The new enhancements to this model make this a no-brainer for the $200 price point!
Shimano Stradic Ci4 4000 Review – No Brainer!
The Shimano Stradic Ci4+ is an awesome reel that comes from a long line of reliable products. This model is no different.
For most inshore anglers, a lightweight reel with a smooth feel is just what the doctor ordered. This reel is durable, near 100% waterproof and is significantly lighter than similar models.
At this price point, you’ll be happy with this reel for years to come!
